Biographical SketchJerome W. Grollman was ordained at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati in 1948. Shortly after ordination, he went to United Hebrew Congregation in Saint Louis, Missouri where he was an assistant to Rabbi Samuel Thurman. Rabbi Grollman served the United Hebrew Congregation for sixty years, until his death in 2008. Rabbi Grollman was involved in the civil rights movement in the 1960s. He participated in two marches with Martin Luther King, Jr.: the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom in 1963 and the march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama in 1965. Scope and Content NoteThis collection consists of sermons written by Rabbi Jerome W. Grollman while rabbi at United Hebrew Congregation in Saint Louis, Missouri.
