Biographical Sketch
Leon Amson Rosenfield, Jr., born October 24, 1911, grew up in El Paso and graduated from the Texas College of Mines with honors. He spent one year at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati before moving to Los Angeles in 1936. He was a chaplain and army administrator in WWII. Rosenfield received an MSW from USC in 1951 and had a distinguished career in social work. He was active in B’nai B’rith, serving numerous positions, including, district director of B'nai B'rith Youth Organization from 1952 to 1961; president of the B’nai B’rith Los Angeles Lodge No. 487; chairman of the Commission on Community Volunteer Services; president of the BBYO Alumni Association of Southern California; and vice president of District Four, Southern Area. Rosenfield was also the executive director of Temple Isaiah in Los Angeles.

Correspondence, minutes, reports, and programs of various Jewish and social work organizations in which Rosenfield participated. The majority of the collection covers B’nai B’rith and Jewish life in Los Angeles, California.
