The UAHC

Rabbi Isaac Mayer Wise, America's passionate supporter of the Reform Movement, campaigned over the course of a generation for an organization of Jewish congregations in North America. Wise's cherished dream, The Union of American Hebrew Congregation (UAHC), was established in 1873. In the beginning the UAHC was made up of both liberal and traditional congregations. Today the organization is known as the Union of Reform Judaism.
