Challenging the Bund
After Hitler came to power in January 1933, a number of American Jewish organizations - on both the national and local level - responded to the growth of an indigenous movement. On the national level the Jewish War Veterans helped organize the Non-Sectarian Anti-Nazi Boycott. Samuel Untermeyer, a prominent lawyer and the son of German-Jewish immigrants served as its president. The organization published "The Anti-Nazi Bulletin," which continued to warn against the spread of Nazism across the U.S.
