Henry Mosler
World renowned artist
Henry Mosler (1841-1920) was born to Jewish immigrants in New York, and the family relocated to Cincinnati when Mosler was ten. During the Civil War, he worked as an art correspondent for Harper's Weekly. After the war, he studied art in Europe. Mosler is generally regarded for his "portraits, historical scenes, domestic and genre scenes, and works of spiritual significance." Some of his paintings are currently on display at the Cincinnati Art Museum, Sydney Art Museum, in Springfield, Massachusetts, and New York.
